The Best 12 Looks From London Collections: Men – Fall-Winter 2015

By Attireclub @attireclub

The beginning of the year transformed London in the epicenter of menswear and fashion, as a series of British and international designers showcased their collections during this year’s London Collections: Men event. The collections were all designed for the fall-winter 2015-16 season.

This year’s collections featured a very big amount of prints, patterns, textures and colors.

This year at LCM, the clothes were the stars: The collections featured a lot of shine, a lot of color and a lot of patterns. The event was a true display of a colorful perspective over menswear.

From the Clockwork Orange to London’s markets, the sources of inspiration, design concepts and aesthetics gave us a show to look at for a whole year. It seems that London is keeping it constant: after the spring-summer 2015 collections were a blast of color and new styles, the fall-winter 2015-16 season seems to be predicted in the same light.

Even though some collections featured mostly black and white designs, their volumes, shapes and cuts gave them depth and richness.

As usually, besides from saying that the collections featured many colors, prints and patterns, it is hard to say what will be trending next fall, as the fashion houses and the retailers still need to filter the creations in order for them to become trends.

One collection that stood out was the Hardy Amies collection. Their use of rich colors, sleek, yet very strong designs and rich colors made it one of the best collections of the event. The brand showcased a series of sharply-tailored suits along with a series of clothes that showed their understanding of volume and craftsmanship. Moreover, the show itself was illuminated in a way that made the clothes stand out. By using a lighting scheme that reminded us of the Chiaroscuro effect and reminded the viewer that the clothes are not everything and that the context is important as well.

In the end, a very interesting thing to see was that the collections brought a mix of experimental pieces and very wearable clothes. Even though the experimental pieces were not the top of artistic creation, as they were mostly based on large cuts into clothes or on creating garments that are contrasting to the male figure, it was nice to see a more original approach to menswear than the classic suits-in-different-colors lineup.

The British capital enjoyed a few very colorful days and we have put together a collection of some of our favorite looks from the series of fashion shows that took place during these days. In the gallery below, you can take a look at our favorite designs, read our comments and find your inspiration for the fall-winter 2015-16 season.
