In the last couple of weeks I had my worst ever cinema going experience. Two men sat behind me were incredibly rude, it all started with stupidly copying everything in the adverts. I was just hoping that it would stop for the film, unfortunately not. They kept talking and laughing at things that were not funny (the film was Room for gods sake) as well as constantly kicking the back of my seat and the one next to me. I was alone so did not want to say anything incase it made it all worse and caused a scene in the screen. Massive thanks to Cineworld though for the gift they sent me because of this!
From that it got me thinking about the worst people you come up against when going to the cinema. You know the people you don’t actually understand why they even bothered to come into a dark room and watch a film when they are clearly not even interested a tiny bit in what they are watching.
The Chair Kicker
Once or twice you can understand as some of the seats are pretty close together, but when its constantly throughout the film. This is links to people who put deliberately feet up on chairs above other peoples heads, honestly a nightmare.
The Talker
Do you really need to consult the person/people your with after every single moment in the film? This can cover quite a few things as well though, not forgetting the random conversations once the film has started – go for it during the adverts and trailers! Not forgetting the question person as well, who has no idea what is going on and lets the whole screen know about it.
The Phone User
What on earth is wrong with people who cannot live for between 90-160 minutes without having to check their phone? It’s well ridiculous and the person who does this always has it set to the brightest possible setting!
The Laugher
I’m not talking about in comedy films, as they are meant to make you laugh. I am more meaning inappropriate laughter in serious films at moments which are not meant to be funny and come across just being sick in the head.
The Cougher
I understand you may have a sore throat and coughing a few times is fair enough but not constantly throughout the film, come on have a drink and take a deep breath. This also links into those people that clear there throat throughout.
The Food Rustler
Yes it is going to make a noise if your eating, but that doesn’t mean you should deliberately make as much noise as humanly possible. Just be careful and take your time. It certainly doesn’t help that so many cinema snacks are noisy to begin with.
The Drunk
While this one does not happen that often, I mean if your drinking alcohol the last place you really want to be is somewhere you have to be quiet for a couple of hours. But cinema’s do sell alcohol that you can take in, so watch out for this one.
I do really love going to the cinema honest!
What types of people annoy you the most?
