Black and denim. It's basically my uniform. But really, it is. My best friend and I have a running joke about what we are going to wear when we go out and nine times out of ten, we end up throwing on one of our 1,000 (we probably each have 1,000- that's not a combined figure) different black shirts and a pair jeans. Predictable? Maybe. Boring? Definitely not. See, there's a logic behind the madness. The reasoning? There are different types of black. You've got your black leather, your lace, your favorite v-neck, your "I caved and ate pizza again last night and now I'm trying not to look like a beached whale" black.. The list goes on and on.
And let's not forget my trusty denim cut-offs. I swear I live in those things a solid six months out of the year. There's something simple and effortless about jean shorts that's just so appealing to me and so classic. You really can't go wrong.
Another one of my springtime staples are my favorite Sam Edelman sandals. I literally think I own almost every color ever made. Yes, they are that great. Dress them up, dress them down. Blah, blah, blah. You get it. They're awesome.
In an attempt to switch up my uniform a bit, I've added some new accessories to the mix. Ray Bans. I mean, come on, who doesn't love them? But what I really love this season are mirrored lenses. I used to not be a fan, but I have to say, I think I'm a convert. They're pretty much the epitome of effortless style. What's not to love?
The other new trend I'm trying are stackable rings. I'm not talking gaudy rows of them all up and down your ring finger. No. I'm into that whole "little dainty rings on the top parts of your fingers" trend. (Guys if you're still reading this far down and have no idea what in the WORLD I'm talking about, just nod your head and act like what I'm talking about makes complete and perfect sense.) Yet another example of effortless, simple and chic.
Maybe one of these days I'll branch out and rock some crazy floral print with purple jeggings. Yeah.. I take that back. I'll just stick with what I know.
