Story: The 355 starts when a top-secret weapon falls into a mercenary’s hands. CIA agent Mace (Chastain) loses her closest lead, clashing with another mysterious woman Marie Schmidt (Kruger). Mace turns to an old partner and tech expert Khadijah (Nyong’o) for help. This leads Mace down a path with another agent Graciela (Cruz).
The four women must put their agency differences aside to retrieve the weapon before it is used to cause a dangerous consequence. They find themselves dealing with people who will go to extreme lengths to get what they want.
Verdict on The 355
The 355 is an action thriller following five secret agents from different agencies around the world. They must come together to stop a top-secret weapon from ending up on the black market. It sees them putting aside their differences to tackle a common enemy.
This spy thriller is designed to bring us five fresh female spies. It is nice knowing that we could easily see the team operate together with different pairings in the future. Where it could see original creations coming to life in a male central character. The story gives us plenty of twists along the way, keeping us guessing as to where things could end up going next.
When it comes to the performances, we have a great cast. Five big names in the acting world, from different backgrounds, could as I mentioned before, have their own individual movies any day of the week. If we look at the action, we get the fast-cutting formula that hasn’t always been the most interesting to watch.
Final Thoughts – The 355 is a by-the-book crime thriller that could open plenty more doors in the future.
