On September 22, Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery hosted Women, Health & Balanced Living, a women’s health event at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano. The event featured kicked off a cocktail hour in which guests enjoyed sips, bites and networking. Yasmeen Tadia was on-site making a specialty drink comprised of Sugaire organic cotton candy and champagne (or Pellegrino) toped with edible gold fairy dust. It was magical and super tasty! The organic, all-natural, gluten free, vegan, kosher treat was a big hit with the ladies in the room. I was delighted to be able to interview my dear friend, Pat Smith, for the crowd and talk about her new book, Second Chances. Leslie Baker and Larry Robertson of Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery surprised Pat with not only a donation to her charity, Treasure You, but a pledge to gift her next women retreat with a supply of sleep shirts for attendees. In typical Pat Smith-fashion, this news was met with a gleeful shriek, big hugs and happy tears from Pat. Pat is always open and frank about turbulent her past and how hard she works to maintain her fairy-tale happy ending with husband, NFL legend and Dancing With The Star champion, Emmitt Smith. After our chat came to a reluctant end, guests attended two rounds of breakout sessions featuring women’s health topics such as healthy eating and meditation for stress reduction. Guests left feeling uplifted and empowered about their physical, mental and spiritual health. I was honored to be a part of such an amazing night!
