On Monday evening, the provincial security district of Temara, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 24-year-old individual for his alleged involvement in activities related to a criminal gang specialized in violent robbery.
The suspect was arrested at his home in the Nasr district of Temara following the results of research conducted to solve acts of theft committed by the criminal gang in question at gunpoint and using a light car, particularly at the Rabat– Temara ring road, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The investigations also revealed that the rental car used in the execution of these criminal assaults is located in the municipal pound, following a traffic accident that caused the death of one of the members of this criminal gang, in the Sidi Yahia area outside the urban perimeter, the same source said.
The defendant, as well as another person accused of concealing stolen objects, were placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, while investigations are ongoing to arrest his identified accomplices.
