About
This isn’t saying we don’t like electronic music, it’s just that we rarely get around to posting about it. We live for a different type of music, the kind that puts guitar front and center (a little glockenspiel doesn’t hurt either). The kind of music you see live because you want to feel the pounding of the bass drum and the crash of the cymbal. Yes, we are rock music obsessed people. As much as we neglect electronic music, there are those certain artists that transcend that. Artists whose music grabs you no matter what genre you naturally gravitate to. Canadian electro pop artist Teen Daze, whose 2012 album, The Inner Mansions, was featured by nearly every blog out there, is one such artist. Fortunately, he took time out of his busy schedule to stop by Degraw Sound in Brooklyn, New York late last year for a taping of a Buzzsession. Enjoy both “New City” and “Divided Loyalties” below and snag the recordings for free using our Soundcloud embed.
‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs. This Buzzsession was shot at Degraw Sound, a Brooklyn recording studio on the Park Slope/Gowanus border, owned and operated by producer/engineer/musician Ben Rice (Blackbells, The Mooney Suzuki).
