Teaching Our Kids Right from Wrong

By Karlaew1 @simplelivingfam

The other night at dinner our six year old son told us about a couple of boys calling some little girls names on the bus. He said he didn’t join in because he knew it wasn’t right. What was my reaction? I waited until he wasn’t there and I cried, and cried, and cried.

Not the reaction you were expecting? It was just an overwhelming proud parenting moment for me. It meant that somewhere along the way Jay and I had done something right.

Maybe this seems like an over the top way to react to a one minute dinner story, but we’ve been able to teach him what is right and what is wrong. We did that. I couldn’t help but be really proud of our accomplishment.

When have you realized you’ve been successful teaching your kids what is right and what is wrong?
