As I didn't have enough time to plan anything for my 28th birthday in September, I said to myself I'd have a tea party and this weekend was the time. I love nothing more than to chill out, watch Disney and drink tea... the ideal combination for a Sunday I thought, so invited my two lovely friends over to join me at my place.
One of my friends made a fantastic cheeky carrot cake that was still warm when she came over. Myself and Miss Gingeybites dived straight in there and indulged in how yummy it was! With a delicious spongy cake and tea in our hands, this was turning out to be one of the most relaxing afternoons I'd had in a long time.
Showing how to drink tea properly with a pinky out!
The Katie Alice Collections come in four different varieties; Cottage Flower, Ditsy Floral, English Garden, and Scarlet Posy. The tea set look I chose out of the Katie Alice Collection was Ditsy Floral - It has beautiful colours and is quite mix match with a 50's feel to it... you know me I love quirky items!"Inspiration for the Ditsy Floral collection came from Katie's love of old vintage crockery, fabrics, wallpapers and antique finds"
I have their afternoon tea sets that have a cup and saucer, along with a side plate which is perfect for cheeky slices of cake. I also have a tea pot, sugar cube pot, milk jug, cake stand and of course (the host of the party) a tea pot. If you're shopping early for Christmas, this would be superb gift idea or maybe If you're a girlie girl like me this is the set for you.
When I rabbit on about investing in key fashion items, I believe the same about items for your house. To me, tea sets are certainly one of those key investment, If you have a good tea set you really cannot go wrong. Whenever I drink tea from a tea pot and sip it out of a cup and saucer, it feels really good especially if I'm reading a brand new magazine or a good book with it.
Me and my two girlies are making tea time and Disney a regular occurance.... hopefully there will be more cake for me to try! Watch this space!!
