With the 'festival' being curated by iTunes they tend to get to cream of the crop but this years line up looks rather flat. Last year Lady Gaga opened it, Katy Perry closed it and Elton John was somewhere in the middle. This time around September 1st saw Deadmaus headline whilst the month is over with Placido Domingo (who???), doesn't have the same ring to it does it...
Even though I can't really make it to any of the nights this year, I haven't even been tempted to enter any, for the past few years I have had some great night nights at the Roundhouse, last year Lady GaGa blew my mind, in 2011 Arctic Monkeys were on fire and the year prior Biffy Clyro were hard and heavy. I did kind of wish I hadn't bothered with 2012 as, ok, I adore Lana Del Rey but boy was she boring that night. I regret not making it down last year for Kendrick Lamar, Vampire Weekend and Elton which I had won tickets for.
I hope it isn't me who has become old and boring but usually September and October are flooded with exciting gigs to attend and the iTunes Festival is the cherry on the top but it isn't just the Roundhouse that lacks a stellar a line up this year, minus Austin City Limits my calendar is empty when it comes to gushing over gigs!
