Taylor Swift It wants to help ensure that everyone can find their love story.
The 30-year-old singer doubled her support for the LGBTQ + community, while accepting the Icon Award at the virtual ceremony of the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, which aired on Tuesday 1 December.
"I want to say thank you to the person who was hands-on in deciding that I should deserve it," Swift said. "And mostly I want to say thank you to the fans for giving me a platform to make music and being vocal about the things that I think are right and wrong."
The music superstar encouraged his supporters to contact government officials and call for legislation protecting these communities.
"I just believe very strongly that everyone should be able to live their love story without fear of discrimination, and the way to do that is to push governments forward to maintain safety for members of the LGBTQ community To continue. "The You Need to Call Down" continued the singer. "And I promise to always advocate for her, and I am grateful for this amazing award."
