Our strategy for any new restaurant is to try the appetizers. Having been years since the last time she’s eaten these, Katie ordered the Arancini. These crispy fried carnaroli rice balls filled with mozzarella, parmigianno were light, extremely crispy and full of flavor. Not to mention the homemade tomato sauce that hugged our taste buds with a comforting freshness.
And because I became instantly determined to try squash blossoms after this, I ordered the Stuffed Fried Squash Blossoms with herbed aioli, pesto ricotta.
For our main course we went the classic route with the Margherita covered in that same delicious tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, which is all grown by local farmers. I’ll admit I told our waiter to tell the kitchen that this was the first pizza I’ve had on the west coast that tasted like some good old New York style pizza, now that says a lot!
