I had something happen this week, that I’ve been wanting for a REALLY long time. Most food bloggers are aware of the site TASTESPOTTING. It’s a site for food enthusiasts, whether you are a food blogger or avid cook – it’s a great site to get inspiration for something to make.
I’ve submitted TONS of photos over the years, and not one has ever made it to the site. It’s become somewhat of a joke between my sister and I. But, I’ve never given up! I don’t have a fancy camera, so just try to do my best with what I’ve got. So imagine my surprise, when I tried again – posting my photo for my pretzel buns. I didn’t even think to check what the outcome was when I got back from lunch at work and had an e-mail from my sister….
Congrats on being on the 1st page of Tastespotting.
I thought she was joking – but there it was – TA DA!!!! So, thank you Tastespotting for finally accepting a photo of mine!!!

Now on to my weekend – Girl Scout camping with the best daughter ever – my baby Claire
This photo was taken when the girls were figuring out how to build their tent – once it was done – they were very proud of themselves!!
We hiked, fished, made our own food on the campfire, learned about composting, I brought stuff to make a craft – we made no sew bandana pillows
The weather cooperated – it felt like summer – 80′s and sunny!
We camped at the Kankakee, IL State Park. On our hike we got to a canyon overlook. Claire loved it. It was fun but I was glad to come home and take a long shower!

And now to all my Chicago-land home cooks and bloggers – I want to tell you about a great event taking place every month for foodies. The Chicago Food Swap. It turns out one of the co-founders lives near me, and we started e-mailing each other and I had the pleasure of meeting her last week. Her name is Emily and she I have a ton in common.
If you want to find more about the Food Swap – please visit their site here
the next event is Sunday, June 23rd – at Gallery 1028 in Chicago – a raw loft space –
How cool is that space?!
In the past, there has been a limit to how many swappers have been able to attend because of limited space, but this space is amazing and big for anyone who wants to come!
The event is FREE and if you want to to go you have to register here .
I am definitely going, and hopefully my twin sister will come too!
How was your weekend???
