Tameka 'Tiny' Harris: Forward Fashion Or Self Hatred

I must admit that I am starting off this blog somewhat biased. I LOVES me some T.I. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I will try and be as fair as 'I' can possibly be. Given that I never start a blog off that way, I think I deserve some credit. Anyway, we are living in a era where black people and other minorities are mass incarcerated, gunned down by each other, law enforcement, and over zealous racists, most people generally lacking the sense they should have by the time they have reached adulthood. The world it seems to me, is in a huge racial tug of war, and I can't help but to feel a bit of a loss every time one of my people does something questionable. This is one of those times. Apparently, Tameka 'Tiny' Harris, former member of Xscape, has apparently decided, enough is enough, my eye color isn't good enough, so along with the extensive surgeries, weaves, and makeup, I'm going to take my 'white woman' to a whole new level and change my eye color! Granted, Tameka Harris is in fact, half white. I think Tiny was beautiful before she started with all of these surgeries that were completely, in my opinion, unnecessary. She isn't the only one that seems to be going through some drastic measures to keep up with today's standard of beauty to the point that we don't know where they end and the surgeries begin. Rapper/singer Nicki Minaj, rapper Lil Kim, actress Vivica Fox, R&B singer Tiny, comedian Sommore, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith to just name a few, it seems either had gotten surgeries to get on or keep going. Are we not being accepted looking like us? A nip here and a tuck there becomes a full fledged new person, and when people are like, 'oh my gosh!" WE are haters. I guess these could be considered one of those 'to each his own' things. I'm glad I am married because it seems to me that in about 5 years we're going to start having to ask people for original pictures of themselves before we walk down the alter. In other words, 'Can I see some high school pictures please?' Before your daughter is born with a nose that you truly don't recognize only to find out that your man or wife got the 'schnoz scalpel'. Personally, I draw the line at hair weaving. Obviously cosmetic surgeries isn't for everyone. I wouldn't be me if I didn't point out that being so shallow you would go from this (points at the picture on the left) to that (points at Smokey Robinson on the right) is in fact, Super Mediocre. But what are YOUR thoughts.
