Taking Care of Puppies and Online Pet Shopping!

Hey everyone!
Today I'll be talking about an Online Shopping site for Pets ~ Heads Up for Tails, a luxury boutique store that sells dog clothes, designer dog collars, pet food, personalised pet gifts, beds, grooming, etc. and how to take care of your puppies.

Owning a dog can be an extremely rewarding experience, but it also carries with it some responsibility. When the time comes to finally bring your new puppy home for the first time, you can pretty much count on three things : joy, cleaning up your puppy’s accidents, and a major lifestyle adjustment. Establishing good and healthy habits in those first few sleep-deprived weeks will lay the foundation for many dog-years of happiness for you and your puppy. I have listed some points to remember for a happy and healthy puppy :
  • Show your puppy around the house as soon as you bring him home. Let him walk in all the rooms.
  • The kitchen or bathroom is an ideal place for the bed because they generally are warm and have washable floors. Make sure the pillow/blanket are always soft, comfy and dry.
  • Puppies have bag full of boundless energy, so make sure you them plenty of toys, balls, etc. But make sure the toys are chewable and indestructible, otherwise the pup can choke and die.
  • Look for foods that incorporate high quality proteins from fish, chicken, lamb, and/or eggs. Also look for a way to feed your dogs fatty acids to keep its coat shiny and healthy. Start from Canned home food and Pedigree.
  • Don't ever use collars for puppies, they can hurt their necks and can injure their throats. Always use a nylon harness and a metal tag or better train them to behave nicely in public (like mine do).
  • It's important to stroke your pet's body, legs, and head several times daily. This will help your puppy feel loved, as well as allow you to create a strong bond with your puppy.
  • Make sure your puppy always has adequate fresh water available. Unlike food, you should leave a full bowl of fresh water out for your dogs at all times.
  • Air out your puppy's bedding daily, and wash or replace it weekly.
  • Get rid of harmful plants. There are a number of household plants that are actually toxic to puppies who like to chew.
  • Try to give your puppy about an hour of walk two times a day. Allow them to interact with other (friendly) dogs they meet and to leave scent markings. This is important for your dogs confidence.
  • Socialize your puppy. Once vaccinated, puppies should be encouraged to play with friendly puppies, grown dogs, and other animals. Make sure the other animal tolerates the puppy well, and do not leave the animals alone for even a minute at first.
  • When your puppy is 6 to 9 weeks old, you'll want to take it to the vet to get vaccinated. Make sure you talk to your vet about distemper, parainfluenza, canine hepatitis, and parvovirus.
  • Brushing keeps your pet clean and healthy and allows you to check its skin and fur for any problems. Brush all over the puppy, including its belly and hind legs. Start when your puppy is young so that they are not afraid of the brush.
  • Start clipping your puppy's nails early on or Ask your vet to show you the proper nail cutting technique to use so you avoid hurting your puppy. Nails that are too long can cause strain to your dog's wrists as well as damage floors, furniture, and possibly people.
  • Chew toys help a puppy keep its teeth healthy. Toothbrushes and toothpaste made specifically for dogs are also very helpful in keeping your pup's teeth clean and healthy.
Feed multiple times a day :

  • Age 6-12 weeks – 4 meals per day
  • Age 3-6 months – 3 meals per day
  • Age 6-12 months – 2 meals per day
