No one can control you unless you allow them to, and no one can take advantage of you unless you allow them to.
When it comes to work, sometimes it can be or get tricky.
Certain supervisors will take advantage of you if you are a good worker to benefit themselves, or to benefit the company.
I have been in this situation more than once.
I only allow myself to be taken advantage of at work when it is also to my advantage. If those in managerial positions need me to work extra hours on short notice, and so on. I greatly benefit from the extra pay in my line of work.
Of course, money is not everything, we do need to set boundaries that are not to be crossed or improperly overstepped upon.
Life essentials are a necessity and there are bills to be paid, a roof to keep over our heads, and a natural lifestyle to maintain, so money does serve a valuable purpose.
Though money should not be a reason to compromise our integrity.
