You wfh all day, probably hunched over a laptop at a makeshift desk, then move to the couch and watch TV, before finally getting into bed and scrolling through your phone. We're all out to keep you busy and entertained in any way we can while locked, but if you want to take a break from the screen, here's how to do it ...

Take out the knitting needles

Move over to Grandma because knitting is the new rock 'n' roll. And Wool & The Gang are like the Knitting Beatles. They have tons of options for beginners to knit, like this Can You Feel It cushion kit with super comfy yarn, as well as kits for the more advanced, so there's no better time to pull these out. needles.

Lace up these sneakers

It's super obvious, but getting out in the fresh air is a simple and effective way to get away from all the screens, and you're still allowed to meet someone outside of your household for some exercise. If you're not up for a sweat, here are some great walks in London, from strolling along the river to admiring public artwork to exploring ancient forests. If you resumed racing in Lockdown 1.0, here are four routes to help you rack up the miles.

Crack open a book

Do you know that stack of unread books you have on your shelves? Or the list of readings that you wrote down on your phone but haven't started crossing out yet? Now is a great time to open a book and once you get started you might find it hard to stop, in a good way. These are the ones we're reading right now if you need more inspiration.

Draw your pets

If you want to work your creative muscles and spend some time away from the screen - after watching the session of course - then why not try a drawing? Wild Life Drawing illustrator and founder Jennie Webber normally runs classes where you can draw animals like owls, wolves, and piglets. Since we can't go to her lessons, she comes to us via IGTV with a tutorial on how to draw our pets. All you need to get involved is some paper, something to draw with (pencil, pen, charcoal or whatever you want) and a pet (or a photo of one).

Jump on a bike

Remember that bike you bought in the summer when you needed a way to get around town without using public transport? It's time to dust off again (or get on a rental in Santander) and take a ride on one of these routes - it's exercise so it's ok and it lets you see the capital in a whole new way.
