SwimTalk With Lauryn Evarts of The Skinny Confidential

By Swimsuitsdirect @Swimsuitsdirect

Lauryn’s sporty style and active lifestyle makes her a great fashion blogger to follow.

A fashion leader is someone who influences the styles of not just their own readers but a person who can have even the smallest impact on how women see themselves and the fashion industry as a whole. At SwimsuitsDirect.com we are always looking to work with and learn from these fashion leaders. So we’re excited to share with you the next installment of our ongoing fashion blogger interview series, SwimTalk.

This week’s fashion and style blogging interviewee is the super fit and super fab Lauryn Evarts, creator of the blog The Skinny Confidential. As described by Lauryn herself, The Skinny Confidential is like an onion, lots of layers. Of course an analogy everyone would prefer is that the blog has layers like a parfait. It’s a wonderful balance of topics like  fashion, fitness, wellness, health, relationships, beauty and everything in between. She’s a very prolific writer as can be seen online & now as a book too.  The book can be found online and in all major bookstores. Buy yourself  a copy here.

Lauyrn struts a very sporty edgy look that matches her active lifestyle. Her desire to help women look and feel their best compliments Swimsuits Direct’s own mission. If you want a lifestyle blog that motivates you to be your best this is the one to follow.

1) What led you to the fabulous world of fashion?

I started with my healthy and fitness blog that has turned into a full lifestyle blog, and brand and I love every second of it!

2) What is your favorite type of clothes to blog about?

I love to blog about cost effective finds, that any girl can wear. I also love blogging about bikinis, purses, beauty products, crop tops, little black dresses, and anything that fits the season.

Lauryn prides herself on her hard work to maintain her body and she happily shares the secrets with her readers.

3) How would you describe your personal style?

Classic, but edgy. I love a lot of black, white, and gray. I’m not too into print and I love a good pair of skinny jeans. I’m also into dainty jewelry, oversize sunglasses, black on black and hats.

4) What do you think about shopping for clothes online vs. shopping in an actual store?

I love online shopping. Who has time to go to the mall? I also love “presents” on my door step. With online shopping you can find exactly what your looking for.

5) How do you get yourself ready for bikini season?

Lots of water, lots of sleep, lots of green juice, and intervals that raise my heart rate. I also cut back on the booze and dairy. A spray tan never hurt anyone!

6) What types of diet and exercise do you recommend for ladies trying to get their beach bodies ready for the summer?

I love Cardio Zone (I love to get my heart rate up. I also love strength training, right now I am working on The Skinny Confidential that will feature all my favorite workouts, I have been doing them recently and they have changed my body.

7) What is your favorite style of swimsuit? And what do you look for in a new bathing suit?

I love the bandeaux style (with under wire) I also love low rise bottoms but I’m also loving super high rise. I like spandex material, anything that flatters a women’s body is good in my book.

8) How many swimsuits do you own?

Too many! I love swim suits, no girl can have enough swimsuits!

9) How often do you get a new bathing suit? And how often would you recommend to your readers getting new pieces?

I like two suits per summer, if I am going on a vocational splurge I get another one. Every girl should have a few bathing suits.

10) What do you find is the hardest part about swimwear shopping? How do you overcome it?

Probably the horrible lighting in the dressing rooms, its so bad! That’s why I love shopping online.

11) How do you know when you’ve found the perfect swim-piece?

When it flatter my body and makes me feel confident and sexy.

“Find something that works for you, everyone’s body is different. So everyone’s swimsuit choices should be different.”

12) Who is your favorite swimwear designer and why? (Extra points if it’s one that we carry)

I don’t have a favorite, there is too many too name. I don’t look for a designer, I look more for fit.

13) Describe your perfect poolside outfit.

A super hot white bikini, a stripped cover up, a large hat, huge sunglasses, and lots of SPF.

14) What advice do you have for finding the ideal swimwear?

Find something that works for you, everyone’s body is different. So everyone’s swimsuit choices should be different.

15) Many women and young girls feel insecure and self conscious when it comes to wearing their swimwear what advice do you have for them to walk tall and wear their swimsuits with confidence?

Again picking something that works for your body is ideal, I like to stay away from stripes because it makes everyone look bigger. Using a scarf as a wrap works wonders.
