Sweet, Young, & Worried by Blythe Baird

By Pamelascott

Following her widely successful debut, Baird wastes no time as she reels in her reader with breath-taking imagery and punching narratives. With expert precision and vulnerability, Baird guides us on an expedition embracing queerness, love, loss, mental health, feminism & healing along the way.

I loved Sweet, Young & Worried. This a powerful, engaging evocative collection of poems. I loved them all. The poems are deeply personal and each one was a pleasure to read. They deal with universal themes such as sexuality, love, loss and healing but from a unique perspective. They are intimate in a ways poems I've read haven't been for a while. I especially loved Sad Girls Club, What To Expect When You Are Not and Gem And I.
