Sweater Series: From a Boutique in Peru

Sweater Series: Seventh Installment

I am always in awe of the writers who can engage me with their stories/novels from the first page. I read a lot. Sometime several books simultaneously. So the difference between writing hits my sense right again. When it is extremely stark I have to stop and let my brain process it all. There are books which are like slow burn. The writer take his/her sweet time to peel the layers of their characters. But then there are books which start with a WHaM! and you are in for the ride from the very first sentence. Those are the writers that I am aways amused and impressed by. Because that's a skill. That's something that cannot be taught. You either are a succinct storytellers, or you are not. And you might not even realize you are not because you just need 'x' many words to express yourself and thats your most succinct self. And I can relate. But the writers who can skillfully take you for a joy ride and not let the butterflies in your stomach rest till the very lat page are special. Oh so special. I realize I am on a reading spree for life, in search for such writers and stories. They give me all the happiness I seek from words.

For this sweater, it is special too. I bought it on my trip to Peru a years back. I had heard a lot about the alpaca knitwear and I knew I wanted to bring something back. on my last leg of the trip I took out the time to go shopping and this was one of the pieces I invested in. I love the color combination, the finishes touches around the cuff, neck and bottom. It is soft and fits like a dream. It is one of those pieces that I will tire of wearing.
