It's hot out, like twice the temperature of the sun hot and, no way, no how, are you going out with exposed arms. It doesn't matter if you can crack an egg on the pavement, the horror of not going out with some sort of arm coverage is worth sweating to death over. But do you have to? I have given tips before on how to cover up arms in the summer, but there are so many fresh trends going on right now that support arm coverage that I had to bring it up again. Even better, you won't have to leave the house feeling you're wearing your sweaty cardigans like security blankets.
Sweat-Free Ways to Cover Up Arms this Summer
#1- Short sleeve cardigansThe first solution is fairly obvious, throw on a cardigan. However, you don't have to swaddle yourself in the cardigan equivalent of a burqa to reap the benefits. It's likely you only want to cover your upper arms and this season it seems that designers and clothing companies have finally gotten hip to the short sleeve cardigan as an option. There are plenty of them in the stores this season.
Check out these options:
#2- Sheer sleevesNext up, tops and dresses that have sleeves that are sheer. When I first think about sheer sleeves, I think about clingy sheer illusion and other non breathable fabrics. However, you don't have to limit yourself to these options. Try crochet, lace and burned out fabrics that enable you to show a bit of skin while still feeling covered.
Here are some examples:
#3- Airy short sleevesEven if sleeves are short, if they are too clingy they can often feel restrictive and hot. If you want to keep cool and covered, what about sleeves that are a bit more airy and fluid so that you can be covered and feel comfortable and cool at the same time?

#4- Off-the-shoulder tops and dressesYou can't spend less than 30 seconds in a store without spotting at least one off-the-shoulder top. Perfect for bare arms averse, right? Technically yes. But, hold on, I find myself with one issue regarding these tops that I just want to mention: how the heck will you wear a bra? While off the shoulder tops can seem like such a genius summer solution to cover up arms, I hate the idea of trading one set up problems for another. If going braless isn't an issue or, you don't mind wearing a strapless bra, this is definitely a trend to check out. Otherwise, leave it at the store.
If you want to shop this trend, get started with these:
#5- Cold Shoulder TopsCold shoulder tops and dresses , like off the shoulder tops, are another big trend that you may have seen in the stores. Unlike off-the-shoulder, this is a trend I can really get behind if you are looking to cover up without sweating to death. There is convenient coverage for bras and you can choose the level of arm exposure you want.

Remember, the need to cover up arms should not be seen as a punishment or sentence, there are plenty of ways to look stylish, feel cool (literally and figuratively) and confident all at once.
