Hi All,
Ordinarily, if I was opening up a post about my winter hair the words I would be using would go along the lines of “ginger frizz ball” and “completely frazzled”. I know that I am not alone on this one either, winter is as damaging to our hair as it is t our skin, plus we leave behind the happy, healthy summer locks to get dry and damaged from the cold. It can get you down pretty quickly, I know it does for me and to be honest the only time my hair looks good in the winter is when I can afford to get it professionally done at a hairdressers.
Now I haven’t done many reviews before, I am always conscious that I will in general only review products that will be of hep to my readers – yes you guys out there who I love dearly. So when I got the chance to review Doves Intensive Repair range I jumped at the chance. As someone who firstly loves the work Dove do to help us all to find inner strength, their products have always been a favorite of mine, I have used their daily moisturiser for years.
So here it is……have you tried any of these products? if so I would love to know what you thought!
Dove Intensive Repair Express Treatment Conditioner
This is the first one and for me with the amount of chlorine damage and the weather, this is the one that I needed the most. I have so little time to spend on preening myself in the mornings also, that I need a shampoo and more importantly, a conditioner that works quickly! Let’s face it with Christmas round the corner, speed is of the essence. This treatment is perfect for those of us that have no time, lead hectic lifestyles and abuse our locks!
Firstly, I would like to state for the record that this conditioner smells divine. I am one of those annoying people that has more often than not, gone for smells over how great a product is – this one is not a let down! I also found that the fresh smell lasted after the day wore on, which was a nice surprise.
I literally only have minute to sort my hair out in the morning – the dry and go as I have humbly named it – so I was worried that I would have to leave this on my hair for longer than the minute that I have to give. Guess what – a minute is all you need – the benefits were apparent from the first wash, my hair felt stronger and this was even before the drying test.
Now, I am the worst for blow drying my hair. Firstly it is naturally wavy and frizzy – so I should avoid blow drying it any way but I don’t – I turn the heat up and cause an array of damage in the process. Like many of us, I have a daily commute and a hectic lifestyle, I don’t have time to worry about whether my hair looks perfect everyday. So when I began blow drying it – on the highest setting – and my brush didn’t get stuck in the tangles I knew I was onto something good!
So the results. I was left with shiny, stronger feeling hair that looked like I had been to the hairdresser and spent £40 – nice.
Dove Intensive Repair Leave-In Conditioning & Care Spray
Now for the quick fix. It is my works Christmas party next week and like many of us, I am going straight from work. There will be no going home to get changed, wash my hair and put on my makeup. This will be quick change and go. So I need a way to keep my hair this shiny and protect before I leave for the party. This leave in conditioner was great and not what I was expecting at all. I ave tried these spray conditioners before and always found the to be clumpy and leave my hair feeling dirty. this one was light, like a mist really and didn’t leave my hair feeling like I was wearing lots of product in it – a personal hate of mine.
Definitely worth getting one of these to compliment the intensive conditioner. Don’t despair either if you have coloured hair as there is an intensive conditioner in the range for you also – specially formulated to repair the damage caused by hair dye as well as the winter weather.
In conclusion I am suggesting you ditch the hats this winter, arm yourself with these conditioners and enjoy healthier winter hair!!
