I've always known that it was important to surround yourself with people who lift you up when you're down. Who cheer you on when you're doing big things. Who understand the ebbs and flows of life in general (aka the times when you might not be as present as you usually are). But this semester (especially the last 2ish months) has REALLY made me reflect on how good the people in my life are.
To be honest, my circle is small. I don't talk to 50 people on a regular basis. More like 10-20. But those 10-20 people are FREAKING AWESOME. Seriously. They encourage me when I'm overwhelmed. They laugh and share my joy when I'm excited about something. They help me talk through the tough things. I don't think I would've survived the last few months without these people. And I mean that.
That being said - not only do I want to surround myself with good people...I want to BE a good person. I want to be a friend who is encouraging. A friend who makes other people feel good about themselves. And you know what? I have a feeling that spending time with the good people in my life makes me a better person.
