2012 has been a fantastic year for me and what a wedding and a venue to finish with. Hayley and Maroun were actually married in California where they live earlier in the year. I have not photographed at the Dorchester in London for a few years and it was great to be back. As they are based in the US, I unusually hadn’t met either of them before. I had met with Marouns sister who had spent the last few months managing the whole wedding planning. As soon as I arrived at the Dorchester, I felt very welcome by Hayley and her family. Marouns mother gave Hayley a beautiful necklace and earring set to welcome her to the family.
Their ceremony was in the fantastic St James’s Roman Catholic Church in Spanish Place. Even on a cold dark Decembers evening, it was an amazing church for a wedding ceremony. After the cocktail hour, they were introduced into the room by their niece who remained their Master of Ceremonies for the evening. The speeches before and after dinner were very entertaining. I love a full dance floor at a wedding. As soon as the music started, the floor was full and never emptied all night. Dan from Sound Bookings did a fantastic job as usual.
