It is not really a secret that Microsoft is working on a phone that is unlike any other smartphone that we see right now. We all now know that it will be called as the Surface Phone. Recently Microsoft had updated its Surface line-up with various products. The company introduced an all new desktop, a laptop, a tablet and a 2-in-1 convertible as well, however, the only missing product here was the Microsoft Surface Phone.

All the top executives of Microsft have repeatedly accepted that “Microsoft will make smartphones, however, they may not look like phones that are there today.”

In a recent interview with Business Insider, Ryan Gavin, the General Manager of Microsoft Surface, confirmed the Surface Phone rumors. Although he repeated what the leadership team including Panos Panay to Satya Nadella have been saying.

If we go by the recent patents that Microsoft has filed, it is evident that Microsoft is working on a foldable screen Surface Phone. This dual-screened foldable screen portable device may be able to make and receive calls. The patent also shows a freshly developed “hinge” that connects two displays.

While the Surface Phone may or may not see the light of the day or it may even not be a foldable screen phone that we’ve been waiting for, Microsoft has given enough hints that the Surface Phone is not just rumor, although it will be totally different in terms of look and feel.
