Agent Beyonce and Agent Jay-Z are on the case!
Crowley and Cas have found their way back to each other caused by their same mission to track down Lucifer. And dare I say they work well together. Little do they know that Rowena’s got it covered. She may be held captive by the Dark Lord himself but if she can escape the Winchesters this is a piece of cake. With some hocus pocus, she showed Lucifer that she is a force to be reckoned with. When Cas and Crowley finally catch up with her, they are surprised that she’s got everything handled. Also, it seems like they gained another ally for their crusade.
Meanwhile on the Winchester family hunt, Mamma Winchester was attacked by a ghost and Sam started to feel what having mom with them on the job really meant… one more thing to worry about. But the last thing Mary wanted to be was benched. The whole hunting thing was helping her keep her mind off of other things she had been struggling with. She decided to work the case, analog style, without the boys because she had a hunch that it wasn’t just an ordinary haunting. That move left her wide open to getting possessed.
Attention! Attention! We have our first “bro talk” of the season. Sam chooses the moment while standing in front of the grave of the child’s bones they just salted and burned to have a deep discussion with Dean about their mother. He points out that there is something bothering her and she is trying hard to ignore it. “Like mother, like sons” Sam said. Sam couldn’t have been more on the nose because man do they both like to bury their problems.
This episode took an unexpected turn at the end. Turned out Mary’s problem couldn’t be buried any longer. She missed John and her “little” boys. The family she once knew, that made her feel complete and at home, was gone forever. Sad Dean breaks my heart every time and this was one of the worst. All he wanted was his mom back and now she is telling him that she doesn’t want to be around them because they are constant reminders of where she’d rather be. This brings us back to Poor Sam, he never even knew what it was like to miss his mom and he just started getting used to having that void filled. Mamma Winchester please don’t stay away from your boys for too long. Sam and Dean really need their mother back.
