Super Blood Moon (September 27, 2015)

A rare event took place on September 27: a Super Harvest Blood Moon.

According to National Geographic, "three separate lunar events converge. The total eclipse coincides with the full moon nearest the fall equinox, known as the harvest moon. What's more, the moon is at its closest approach to Earth for the year, making it also a supermoon or perigee moon."

It's the fifth time in 25 years and the next one should be in 2033.

The sky was amazingly clear tonight, so I was able to revel in taking pictures from my backyard. Here are some shots for your perusal.
