Next month sees the return of the Zip Wire Challenge and the guys at Sunderland Live have given me a place on the Sunday to zoom across the wire from the Wearmouth Bridge, over to the other side of the river. I'm really excited and also quite scared as I'm not too fond of heights! Actually, I never used to like walking across the bridge when I first started university, (did I mention, I'm not keen on heights and for some reason, bridges too!) so by taking part in the Zip Wire Challenge, it'll be a good way to face that fear head on - 105ft up! Eeek!
The Zip Wire Challenge first ran in April last year and over £13,000 was raised for various charities, which is just fantastic. Since there was such a good response, Sunderland Live have brought the wire back this year for the bank holiday weekend of May 3rd and 4th and this time it'll be even more fun; happening alongside the Sunderland City 10k and the Sunderland City Half Marathon. Busy busy!
If you're around the North East on Sunday 4th May and want to come along and watch then by all means do, but why not go one further and take part yourself? If I can do it, then so can you! For more information on how to buy your ticket visit Sunderland Live's website and hopefully I'll see you there!
