Feet planted in cosy slippers, my Milo pup vying for my attention and a book to the side, waiting patiently for its’ turn… this could only be a chill Sunday night. Believe you me, it hasn’t slipped my mind that these hallowed pages of Daisybutter have lain empty recently, I’ve just been grasping hazily through some writers’ brain fog, the souped-up version of writers’ block. Working days melt into one another and it’s all been a bit crazy around here but I’m making a concerted effort to try harder.
The week has felt so assuredly short that I found it hard to mind-map what on Earth has actually been going on at Chez Chai. But I’ll give it a haphazard go and fill you in on any in-betweens over on Twitter later.

Joining the gym

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll already know that I joined the gym last weekend. Who even am I?! 2017 has been the year that I’ve really got into fitness and seen some results, however small, but joining the actual gym has always evaded me. There’s something ever so slightly overwhelming about working out in a giant open room with scary machines that may or may not crush your foot and with huge men pumping iron in the back. However, my boyfriend and I finally bit the bullet and I’m halfway through my inductions plus one class down and I think it’ll all be great. I work out a little at home already but joining the gym simply means accelerating the process and being able to mix weights in. If you have any tips or posts around the topic or even any routine ideas, I’d love to hear them!

The Orionid meteor showers

Last night I headed out to watch the Orionid meteor showers with my boyfriend and siblings. I managed to see just one before the clouds moved overhead and we retreated home - via McDonald’s!! - to warm up. I used to absolutely love going outdoors with my deckchair, a couple of blankets, a coffee flask and hot water bottle to watch meteor showers and there’s nothing COOLER, frankly, than seeing shooting stars hand-in-hand with your favorite person, wondering how many years these stars had been in the making.

The Daisybutter Coffee Club

My newest newsletter went out on Wednesday and I’m still loving the feedback I get from it. I’m not completely ‘on it’ with a schedule like I promised but it’s nice to pour some love and attention into a different platform. This edition focused on the idea of taking the foot off the pedal, just a little, and seeing what results you may reap. It also comes with a free downloadable; sign up here to receive it tomorrow (Monday) as I’ll be sending out a follow-up for new subscribers.
