At par with the style in the décor, they also offer some lip smacking delicacies at each of their restaurants and K3 in particular and so, an invite for their Sunday winter Brunch that started from 12thOctober really excited us. The place has it’s own vibe and staying true to the statement of comfort seating, they now also have an outdoor seating, so you can enjoy some food sitting next to the live station counters put up outside. The seating is unclustered and it is spread all around the 3 kitchens of Tuscan, Cantonese and Indian. The open feeling was inviting despite the “house-full” packed crowd we saw for the brunch.
Apart from the regular brunch menu, they have added some live grill counters in the courtyard section which has Indian Barbeque (Paneer is a must try), western barbeque (of which I loved the mushroom - bell pepper roast and Maneesh loved the tenderloin and lamb chops) and the fresh fish market which has sea food flown in fresh every morning from kerala for the Sunday Brunch. These three counters were buzzing with people, as much so as the counters put up inside that was serving some Delhi chaat, some Karwar rolls and some Italian Fritto Misto. Maneesh relished upon the fresh Pomfret as much as he did for the whole new Indian section menu of Kosha Mangsho, Prawn curry and the grilled “whole” lamb and I recommend trying the dumplings, the black pepper mushrooms and the salads from the Italian section. My favorite was the Balsamic Pears with Blue Cheese and the Char Grilled Eggplants with zucchini and Goat cheese. The Corn palak from the Indian section was nice and creamy and the live-cooking daal makhani is worth a try too. Keeping the season in mind, there is a lot of addition of meat dishes and rich food with lot of spices to keep you warm.
The food options are so extensive that there’s something for everybody. The live singing band did justice to the ambiance and not to forget, there were some terrific cocktails too. They are introducing some spice flavoured cocktails with cinnamon, cloves etc especially for the winters and also to look out for is the Masala chai counter and the Bhutta counter that they are going to put up. Sipping some warm chai with a hot roasted bhutta sitting inside that warm K3 environment is just what you would want to do on a winter evening!!!
Over the desserts, of which I loved everything I had from the Dudhi ki kheer, gajar halwa, macarons, waffles, cupcakes, pastries, mousse, we had a little chat with the Executive Chef Girish Krishnan of JW Marriott. Giving respect to all the staff working hard there from the chefs, to servers to the management, I especially want to mention about this man who I feel throws immense positive energy to the place and that’s what makes K3 what it is. He is always seen smiling, on toes checking on each kitchen, and also tending to guests.
This Sunday winter brunch is not to be missed if you want to feel yourself warm and pampered in the season. And there is a new play-area section just outside the entrance to K3 with lots of toys and games for the kids!!! Can it get better?
