Sunday Summary | Sunderland Airshow

New challenges and reflecting on fond memories, it's been an interesting week.
I've shared two new posts this week; an outfit and my Cowshed spa experience, before taking some time out to myself towards the end of the week. If you're curious why, this post will probably explain all. Sometimes we all need to take a step back for a day or two, for whatever reason. From next week though there'll be the usual Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday posts up - since I'm now off work until mid August, so I'll have way more time to work on Hello Freckles!
I tried out a new class at the gym; stability ball which focused on core for about 40 minutes and who knew it could be so tricky to plank on a ball? Good fun though. I've also been spinning, to the gym, climbing and bowling this week. There'll be more on climbing and bowling in another post though.Yesterday I went along to the Sunderland Airshow and for the majority of the afternoon the weather was really good. Towards the end of the Red Arrows display, the clouds came rolling in and so did the rain. Despite cutting their display slightly short, it was still as impressive to see and the airshow will continue to be a tradition now, even if we only go to see the Red Arrows. I couldn't decide which photo to share in this post, so you've got an extra one today!
After all that sea air, I went along to Longhorns in Jesmond for some seafood - yes, really, the bbq smokehouse were dishing up seafood. For one day only (after the success of their family bbq event) Longhorns were offering a special menu including lobster and shrimp and I've been talking about having lobster (not in a pasta dish) for some time now. The food was really good and had it been a bit warmer (or sunny) we probably would've sat outside on the terrace. To round off the day we headed to the cinema to see Southpaw which I would highly recommend to everyone. Even if you're not into boxing, go see it, because it's really so much more than just Jake Gyllenhaal throwing punches - though there is plenty of that too. The POV shots of the punches were some of my favourites and as informed by someone who's done their fair share of kickboxing/karate, they're realistic to how it feels being hit in the face too!
What've you been up to this week?
