Sunday Summary | Birthdays, James Bay and Sun

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
So last week my usual Sunday Summary was replaced with a special birthday post, but I'm back this week to share what's been happening.

If you missed the big news, Hello Freckles turned 2 and I celebrated my blog birthday/anniversary - not sure which is more appropriate?! You can see lots of cake photos over on this post, where I get a bit soppy thinking about what I've achieved in the past 24 months.

On Monday night Lucy and I went along to Pop Recs in Sunderland to see James Bay. It was a bit of a last minute announcement and tickets went on sale the Saturday prior at 9am. It's a good job I got there early sure I was there early 'cause the £5 tickets sold out in under 15 minutes. The gig itself was great, Hyde and Beast came on first, then James Bay played a few songs before they both did a collaboration on another couple tracks. He even stuck around afterwards to meet everyone, sign tickets and take some photos. So yes, after all the excitement meeting Paul Hollywood (and getting a selfie with him at the BBC Good Food Show in Harrogate), Lucy then got a photo with James Bay and wore his hat, well it was her birthday after all!

The rest of my week off I've spent enjoying the weather - especially over the lakes visiting Ullswater. That's where I took that photo above during our 7 mile walk. We really could've have picked a better day, so warm and sunny. I already want to go back and do the longer (14 mile) walk, but that'll probably have to be after my 10k next month. It's been nice to catch up with family too while I've been off, work on my blog, attend a rather exciting blog meeting (I'll share a little more on that soon) then take my Mam for afternoon tea which you'll find out all about next week!

I'm really happy with the content I've shared this week. My latest nail varnish from Nails Inc seems to have gone down a treat, River Bar cocktails caught the interest of a few of you and I'm bringing back the style posts, starting with this one showing off my spring accessories from New Look.

As you're reading this, I'll be on my way to Brighton. I'm headed there for work for a few days, so I do hope there's good weather for my fish and chips on the beach. I'll watch out for the seagulls though!

I'll be back Tuesday, hope you've had a great week!
