Animals can be unpredictable and although Edinburgh Zoo have a daily Penguin Parade at 2:15pm when we visited, none of them wanted to waddle out. I can't say I blame them, it was around 20 degrees and really sunny. There was a similar situation with the Giant Pandas too - since they're hoping Tian Tian will be pregnant the indoor enclosures are currently closed to the public, this means you might spot them lazing around outdoors but they can easily hide inside if they like. I wouldn't say it spoilt the visit at all though, it's just an excuse to go back another time. Plus if she does end up pregnant there'll be a very cute baby to see too!
I was actually quite surprised when I got home to realize that I'd barely taken any photos on my phone whilst I was away. Sometimes I think it's nice to just take in the atmosphere and the sights around you without having to take photos of everything. That being said, I'm actually back in Edinburgh late next week with my sister (and again for the last week in August) so I'll probably take some photos then - for blogging purposes of course!
