Sunday Shimmer

I realised it's been a while since I did a FOTD post and since I quite like how my makeup has turned out today, I thought it would be a good one to get me back into the habit.

L-R: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation, Urban Decay Naked Palette, Soap and Glory 'Thick & Fast' Mascara, Maxfactor 'Wild Shadow' Pencil, Benefit Cream Eyeshadow in 'Bikini-tini', Topshop Lipstick in 'Innocent', MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in 'Springsheen', Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.

I started with my eyes, using bikini-tini as a base all over the lid then applied the wild shadow pencil and blended them together. On their own they're a lovely mix, but I wanted a little bit of a shimmer and opted for sidecar from the naked palette to apply on top. With the wild pencil and cream eyeshadow still being a bit damp, the glitter from sidecar seemed to stick quite well. Hopefully I won't find little bits of glitter on my cheeks later (as is often the case since it seems to go everywhere) To make up for my lack of eyeliner lately, I've been using more mascara. 'Thick & Fast' was featured in my favourites earlier in the year and I think I prefer it now it's dried out a little bit since I can apply more coats and it doesn't go gloopy.

My base was pretty simple, after using the Collection concealer on a couple of spots/red areas, I applied Revlon's Nearly Naked foundation. I have the lightest shade (as always it seems) which seems to match pretty well and it's buildable too. I don't seem to be wearing too much recently with it being warm, but it still gives a decent coverage even with the smallest amount.

MAC 'Springsheen' has been my go-to blush for the past fortnight or so, probably since I keep leaving 'blushbaby' at my boyfriend's. I tend to go for it when I have reasonably neutral eyes so there's that pop of color. Topshop's lipsticks are always ones I forget I have, even while I was just looking for one when I was doing my makeup I found two I've not yet used. Oops. This shade, 'Innocent' was the first one I bought from there, I really just picked it up on a whim when I was looking for a pink to wear when I didn't want to use Creme Cup.

Continuing my recent trend, I left my hair to dry naturally and I'm starting to think I prefer it like this but maybe that's just a summer/heat thing. Who knows!
