It’s the last Bank Holiday of this Summer and all I can think of is burgers, burgers, and burgers. Succulent and juicy burgers straight from the barbecue. A proper burger made with a crispy and little bit sweet bun, good-sized and tasty beef patty, proper slice of creamy cheese melting on top of the sizzling patty. A burger topped with all kinds of delicious and tasty toppings – a little bit of mayo, a little bit of thick mustard, a little bit of smokey barbecue sauce, a little bit of full-bodied ketchup, crispy lettuce, sweetly roasted red onions, fresh tomato and that all important pickle.
And that’s just the beginning – after that the world of taste is your oyster. Salsa, fried onions, goat cheese, bacon, grilled shrimp, coleslaw, sautéed mushrooms… I could go on and on. But sometimes the simplest is simply the best – a good, old-fashioned and classic cheeseburger just does the trick. It does not matter which way you enjoy your burger – this weekend it’s simply burger o’clock!
