Sunday Funday Baking

By Katherine @pbrunnerblog
Last Sunday, a bunch of us girls got together to cook. Wait. Scratch that. A bunch of us girls got together to  cook a little and eat a lot. Contrary to popular belief that girls don't eat a lot, I'm about to show you that girls do eat a lot. If the food is good.

We started out by making sushi. I'm not a huge fan of sushi (Gasp, I know), but I had a good time making it. I was more interested in the huge plate of avocado on the table. I know. Lame.

Even though I don't like sushi, I think I can make a pretty mean plate of it. It looked good enough that it almost convinced me to like how it tastes. Almost.

Next we made PF Chang's lettuce wraps. Sorry for the blur, but I was having too much fun stirring everything in the wok.

Here's a better picture of the wok. By better I mean I'm not stirring at 90 mph speeds causing blurs.

Chicken, mushrooms, onions, and a secret sauce on top created these bad boys.

Since I was a little over enthused with stirring, I decided I would help out by forming the lettuce cups to put the chicken mixture in.

Then I got to fill the cups I had made with the yummy chicken and vegetables.

Forget sushi. This is my kind of main course.

Now of course, what would be cooking without a dessert. Cake pops seemed to be the unanimous decision. As for cake flavor, we got indecisive. So, why not make chocolate, vanilla, AND red velvet? I see no reason not to make all 3. No reason at all.

I dipped the cake pops above! I was really proud because cake pops are where my cooking talents seem to fall apart. Not this time.

If you're looking for something to do on a 'Boring Sunday', invite some friends over to cook. You may just get a three course meal that is nearly as good as the one I had.
P.S. None of these recipes are mine, but if you want to cook something above you can find the Chicken Lettuce Wraps recipe here, the sushi recipe here, and how to make our cake pops here. Happy cooking!
