Sunday Brunch at Max’s Restaurant – Mindanao Avenue

By Clari @clarisaysblog

Who doesn't love Max's Restaurant, "the house that fried chicken built"? Since its establishment, the restaurant has been Filipinos' home during family gatherings and celebrations. In fact, even during simple lunches or dinners, Max's is still a great choice, especially for our small family.

You see when we crave for chicken or rice bowl, there's only one restaurant that comes to mind - Max's. Since the restaurant opened its doors to franchising in the second quarter of 1998, finding the nearest one isn't a problem. We usually go to their Congressional Avenue which is the only one in our area. Now, there's a second one located at Mindanao Avenue.

This branch is smaller than the one in Congressional Avenue; however, their service is still great from the guard who assisted us in parking all the way to the staff who served us our meal. This branch is also very clean, well-lit, and ventilated making our lunch enjoyable.

Now for the food. Obviously, we ordered their chicken and more!

Budget Meal

A quarter of Max's signature Fried Chicken, a choice of steamed rice or rolls, macaroni salad, a glass of Pepsi or iced tea and a Caramel Bar™.

What can I say about their chicken but satisfyingly delicious. They've perfected the method and recipe over the years.

Chicken Longanisa (All Day Breakfast)

Savoury butterflied chicken sausages, fried until golden brown, served with garlic rice and fried eggs. Comes with a siding of zesty atchara.

Since our go-to meal is their chicken offerings and no their rice bowl, we weren't familiar with their All Day Breakfast menu. Did you know that they also offer Triple Chocolate Champorado and Arroz Caldo? Hmm... I'm looking forward to trying these two.

Lechon Sisig Rice Bowl

A special dish made with our very own Max's Lechon (Filipino style roasted pork) chopped finely and sautéed with onions and chilli.

Btw, I really like how they added rice bowls in their menu. Filipinos love rice after all. And ever since they added that I've been ordering each on every visit. So far my favourite is the Chicken Sisig Rice Bowl. There are so many delicious flavours and texture but the Lechon Sisig Rice Bowl is also good. Plus with the amount of viand and rice in each bowl, they are definitely worth every Peso.
