Summer Fun with the Right Pool Lounger

By Kravelv

A quality lounger is a top swimming pool accessory that will make summer fun complete. Easy to use, these come as pool lounges and pool floats, and should provide utmost comfort and relaxation.

Pool loungers are great for soaking up some sun, and staying cool and comfortable at the same time. Most loungers are so versatile that they can be used as floats when you wish to lounge in your pool, while also doubling as tanning beds when placed on the pool deck. Just take them to the pool, beach or lake, and let the fun begin!

Lounge chairs

Some of the best pool loungers are 3-in-1, in order to ingeniously use what little space is available. With simple lines and chrome legs, these light chairs can be easily placed by the pool and in contemporary decorated homes that lack the space. With a 3-in-1, size and padding are comfortable enough for an afternoon nap, while the backrest can be placed in a sitting position for when you want to read a book, for instance.

Floating lounge chairs

Some loungers are designed to float; these floating chairs with pontoon designs often feature molded frames. For extra comfort, some have a woven sling seat, others feature a full-length padded seat instead. Most also have an extra-thick pillow that is built in. Cup holders and LED lights complete the floating chairs.

Pool floats

If you prefer a simpler lounger, then a mesh float is more suitable. It usually consists of a mesh-fabric bottom and a built-in pillow for your comfort, plus an inflatable all-around ring that is also wrapped in fabric

More complex pool floats are really sturdy and durable, made of thick 13-Guage vinyl and air chambers that render the float nearly unsinkable.

Some of the latest technologies out there make use of PVC vinyl closed-cell foam that is so flexible it will keep its shape even when supporting over 350 lbs. The heat-processed vinyl coating is chlorine, sun and salt water resistant. Foam floats are also puncture resistant, making them safe not only for adults, but also for kids and dogs. Moreover, there are float models that provide enhanced stability and support due to an all-around grab line.

Colours and prints

Regardless of type and material, the best pool loungers come in a variety of colours inspired by the sea and sun, such as green, sea blue, lagoon, and bronze, but also in bright colours, like different shades of red, orange and lime. Or there are models with sea-inspired prints, such as waves, palm trees or seahorses.

Storage

Some pool loungers, like the mesh float, are completely collapsible and therefore very portable; they are also easy to fold and store away.

Alternatively, you can use a storage caddy or a hanging rack that can each hold up to six pool floats. Ideally, get a non-rusting aluminum float storage caddy with a raised bar so that the floats won’t lose their shape with time. This kind of design also keeps dirt and pebbles away from the floats.
