Summer Flower Wedding Inspiration

Summer

Summer comes but once per year and sometimes arguably it doesn't come at all. In spring I took a look at natural inspiration for spring weddings. Since it's now summer I thought I'd take the opportunity to get my camera out and take in some of the sights. The idea of this post is to be a reference for anyone looking for summer wedding inspiration throughout the year.

Alternatives

Out there you will find a lot of ideas for summer weddings from weddings themselves. I'm not well placed to do that whereas wedding planners or photographers are. So I've concentrated on where I draw some of my inspiration from. I make bespoke wedding stationery. So when I'm thinking about new designs I'm looking for images of things like flowers and butterfly's. Or I am trying to capture a mood or a period. In this case the inspiration is flowers, some from gardens, some from the countryside, others from grass verges and meadow areas. I think it's good to remind yourself what you might be trying to reflect as opposed to seeing how other people have captured that summer vibe. This approach may lead to some new and original ideas.

Some of the things I take from these photos is how there is beauty in even the simplest flowers. While a more unusual look can be achieved with plants that have a more architectural look to them or a different colour. It's hard to show here but I did like the long grass moving in a warm breeze. Under the summer sun there was something hugely relaxing about that. There are also the colours to take in, whether from the dry grass or the bright flowers.

So what reminds you of summer? I'd love to hear. Hopefully I'll also have another collection or two more to share soon.

Summer Wedding Stationery

We've already looked at some summer related ideas for table names and you can see those in the table name section. Some of the stationery designs that I think can capture a summer mood well are Sienna, Naples and Calabria and those are pictured beneath. I hope this article was useful to someone, the last spring one seemed to go down ok or at least Claire of top wedding blog English Wedding fame seemed to like the last post. Fingers crossed for this one!
