Delhi, the capital of India is known for its scorching hot climate and it stays till September. Rainy days are rare here and therefore we have to take proper care to beat the summer heat.
Although we are stepping outside the home only if necessary due to the pandemic crisis, it’s hot at home also. Therefore, it is essential to be hydrated for a healthy life.
Furthermore, I use summer essential products for skin, hair, and body, as it rejuvenates, revitalize, and give a cooling effect. Now you would think why need products when we are not going outside? Simple! To feel fresh and hydrated. Though we are indoors and the skin is better protected from the harsh weather and sun, summer essentials still need to be embraced.
Today am sharing the products which I use and have found them effective. You can shop them online and see the difference.
My Summer Essentials for Skin
1) Face Mist
I knew about face mist, but never tried until now. It instantly refreshes and hydrates the face, which I loved the most and made me feel why didn’t I used this before as it is so good. It also helps in reducing the oiliness and replenishes lost nutrients to the skin.
Whenever I feel tired or hot due to weather, just shake it and spray the freshness. One can use it as needed, I use 3-4 times a day. It makes me feel fresh and my skin gets nourished. A must have product during the summer.
My Experience:
2) Sheet masks
I have recently discovered the benefits of using sheet masks. The face mask sheets provide deeply-hydrating experience; infuse your skin with vital moisture while helping improve overall tone and firmness.
Use once in 15 days, preferably at night time and feel the difference when you wake up in the morning. It helps to create firmer, healthier, more balanced skin for radiant confidence. Hydrate your skin in summer with a sheet mask.
My Experience:
*Pro Tip: Keep the sheet mask in the fridge for the cooling effect.
3) Aloe Vera gel
Aloe Vera is rich in organic nutrients such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E which makes it an important factor for skin wellness. It also helps control sebum production, keeping the skin hydrated.
Aloe Vera gel helps fight problems of acne, pimples, and signs of ageing. Also, Applying this gel on sunburns, red spots, and skin allergies help provide a soothing effect.
Recently, I got my skin burnt while cooking and daily I started applying the gel. It not only gives a soothing effect, but also helps in healing.
Aloe Vera is a magical ingredient which one should always keep handy due to its multi-purpose usage. I do have an aloe vera plant, but I also keep the gel. I use both organic and Ayurveda aloe vera gel.

Summer without sunscreen is incomplete. I always emphasize that sunscreen is a must throughout the year, indoor or outdoor, and is the most significant skin care essential one should follow.
Choose a sunscreen cream or lotion with at least SPF30 (Sun protection factor) or if you are using another product i.e anti-aging cream, face cream, then check that SPF should be there even if it’s less still it will work.
I use to practice with a dermatologist and they use to advise Neutrogena sunscreen. Henceforth, I also started using myself and also recommended my patients, which always gave good results.
However, there are many other sunscreens available in the market, which has proven effective and you can try it out.

My Summer Essentials for Hair
1) Shampoos which gives a cooling effect
Delhi heat makes the hair frizzy, dull, and oily, which sometimes can cause itchiness and irritation. So, a shampoo that provides cooling effect is a must to have.
I use Head &Shoulder Menthol shampoo and it makes my shower moment enjoyable. It contains natural menthol for a cooling sensation and it revitalizes your hair. The scalp feels refreshed and the fragrance on hair feels so good.
I don’t have dandruff, but coloured hair and it works effectively. Do try out and am sure you will have an improved in-shower scent experience.
My Experience:
2) Onion hair oil by Kapiva
Just like my menthol shampoo provides a cooling effect, the same way onion hair oil by Kapiva reinvigorates my hair.
Kapiva contains 14 essential oils to make hair stronger, shinier, and healthier. The smell of onion is not present and works its magic on all types of hair.
I have frizzy colored hair and use it one night before hair wash. It is non-sticky, non-greasy and the scalp feel cool. I am using it for 6 months now and satisfied with the outcome.
As Kapiva is an ayurvedic product, it is from any artificial fragrances or chemicals. Therefore, you can try out.

Recently I have switched from soaps to body wash and found immense benefits.
- Only a small quantity is required to lather

Vivel Mint Body wash gives cooling effect instantly and a long-lasting fragrance. It cleans skin dirt, moisturizes, and keeps skin smoother. You can purchase ₹40 pack (comes with a loofah, but not sure if that offer is still available) before buying the big pack.
The second body wash which I want to recommend is Bath & Body Works A Thousand Wishes Shower Gel. Just see the bottle, looks so classy and attractive, like a Sparkling Champagne (do not have it
It will enhance your bathing experience with a richness of aloe vera and Vitamin E. Also, the fragrance is oh-la-la which lasts quite long after the shower and others also feel that aroma. The price is tad expensive but worth a buy.
