Lake Tahoe spans the Nevada/California border. There are plenty of recreational adventures on Lake Tahoe’s 191 square miles of sapphire waters. At 6225 feet high, the 22 mile “Big Blue” lake is the largest alpine lake in North America. There are 72 miles of shoreline.

South Lake Tahoe is the most populous city in El Dorado County, California, The east end of the city, on the California-Nevada state line, is mainly geared towards tourism, with the Heavenly Mountain Resort. The Nevada casinos are just across the state line in Stateline, Nevada. Go on a riverboat ride from the southern shore of Lake Tahoe.
