Why
are so many dentists still reluctant to include lasers in their everyday dental
care practices? Laser technology has become the standard of care in dentistry,
yet many dental professionals are still hesitant. The efficiency of lasers in
cutting hard tissue (Class 1–6) is now comparable to high-speed handpieces
without many of the damaging side effects. In fact, even the scope of
procedures for which lasers can be used has widened to cover the entire dental
spectrum. Plus, at a distance of several years since their foray into the world
of dentistry, the prices of integrating laser technology into the average
dental practice have become thoroughly and completely affordable. So why do
dentists still delay?
