Sucking up a Bit of Your Own …

By Yourfamilysurvivalcoach @shari_brewer

I’ve written a number of posts on this blog, before now, about self-care. About the need to look after yourself when the going gets tough. About stepping back, breathing deeply and lightening the load.

Funny how we often aren’t so good at taking our own advice, right?

Well, I’ve forced myself to listen these last couple of weeks – I’ve been a little quiet and missing in action, I’ve been a lot reflective and I’ve been very focused on putting one step in front of the other. As you do. Sucking up a bit of your own.

When people share the difficulties of their journeys with me, I get it. I really do, as my life has not been at all immune to hard times. These such times can be cyclical too and just when the going seems to be easier, a single event … or combined series of smaller ones … can set you back just that little bit.

All good though, and you know how I can tell?

I scrubbed and polished like a mad-woman-possessed today and there’s something about a sparkling kitchen that let’s you realize that things will all be A-ok! Life really IS good.

How good are you at taking your own advice?
