I haven’t actually tried anything sea salt before. I have heard of sea salt sprays for hair texture, but having naturally curly hair I was never lacking for hair texture. Still, I was curious about the Suave Sea Mineral Infusion line and gave it a run. Now that it has been a few weeks I am ready to share my thoughts.
Their Sea Mineral Infusion line has hair products and body products, but I only tried the hair products. There are three products to their Sea Mineral Infusion hair care line; a shampoo, conditioner, and sea salt texturizing spray. My thoughts on each:
- Moisturizing Body Shampoo – I liked this. It did a good job of cleansing my hair, but it wasn’t drying to my hair. I felt like my hair retained a good amount of moisture even when using this regularly. It didn’t have an overly strong scent either. As to whether it gave my hair more body, I don’t know as body is something that comes naturally to my hair.
- Moisturizing Body Conditioner – This was OK. Over time I felt it wasn’t moisturizing enough for my hair, but my hair is porous and drinks up moisture like crazy. I found I liked it best as a leave-in conditioner. However, if your hair doesn’t require a high amount of moisture this may work for you. My daughter’s hair is wavy, and this worked great on her hair. For both of us detangling in the shower with this worked great too.
- Sea Salt Texturizing Spray – This didn’t work for my hair at all. I don’t know if it was user error or that my hair isn’t the type that this product was meant for, but it interfered with curl formation and left my hair feeling sticky. I tried repeatedly to style my hair with this, but I never figured out how to make it work with my hair. I have heard of people with wavy hair using this for a messy, beachy look and strongly suspect this product just wasn’t meant for my hair type.
Overall this was a nice collection. While the texturizing spray didn’t work for me, I really liked the shampoo and the conditioner made a good leave-in for me.
