Boyfriend jeans can be a very versatile staple in any woman’s wardrobe. While they look a bit more relaxed, depending on how they are styled, they can also be dressed up and used in many dressy casual looks.
This past weekend, I styled my client, Ms. Chic, in a few looks using her boyfriend jeans. By using these jeans, we were able to take her dressier pieces, that she often wears to work, and make them look more casual. Here is one of the quick pics we took.
Boyfriend jeans don’t have to be styled exclusively with high heels. Ms. Chic in particular has a closet full and has no problem strutting around the city wearing them. Take a look at the outfits below for some additional outfit ideas. I am using a popular pair of boyfriend jeans from Seven for All Mankind called the Josefina that another client of mine recently purchased. While the style I am showcasing is distressed, this style is available non-distressed in quite a few different washes.
Stylish Ways to Wear Boyfriend Jeans
Outfit #1
Toss on your favorite sweater with your boyfriend jeans and you have a great early fall look. What I like about boyfriend jeans is that small amount of exposed ankles make them a nice transition into full jeans. Plus, that small crop also makes them easy to wear with booties. In the outfit above, I styled these jeans with a relaxed sweater from Elie Tahari and peep toe booties from Vince Camuto. I finished the look with a printed scarf from Bindya, a two tone tote from Banana Republic, tortoise drop earrings from LOFT and a stone bracelet from Bourbon and Bowties.
Outfit #2
Just like my client, you can break out your favorite blazers and pair them with your boyfriend jeans. it’s a chic look that doesn’t need a pair of heels to look good. Here, I styled the look with these tan flats from Sam Edelman. This blazer from Max Mara is similar to the one my client, Ms. Chic, owns. Ms. Chic’s blazer comes with dress and she will definitely get more value from the it by breaking the blazer apart and wearing it this way. And given the price tag, she’ll definitely want to get as much wear as possible.
Keeping the look simple, I layered a basic long sleeve t-shirt from Theory underneath it, added a gorgeous printed scarf from Hinge, and further accessorized with this cognac bag from Vince Camuto, hoop earrings from Kate Spade and leather wrapped bracelet in gray from Banana Republic.
Outfit #3
This last boyfriend jeans look is super casual and still stylish. I styled the jeans with a relaxed boyfriend shirt from Madewell and slip-on sneakers from Frye. Finishing the outfit, I added this layered necklace from Gorjana, colorblocked printed scarf from Ann Taylor and yellow saddle bag from Coach.
