Style: The Wedding Guest 2012 - Outfit 3

This is the next dress on my wedding hit list.  If you've seen much about my personal style, you'll know I tend to go for a particular type of dress.  I go for dresses that nip in at the waist to create my curves, I rarely go for other dresses - especially tunics.
I was shopping with my Mum (aka Little Legend) last weekend when we popped into Monsoon, there was a huge sale going on and so we went for a small rummage.  Being honest I don't tend to buy items from Monsoon, purely because I can't afford them and the sale items never seem to be the pieces I've been after.  Whilst we were browsing I mentioned to Little Ledge, I was going to my friends wedding and that I could look for a dress.  That was all she needed to know and we were off on our challenge Anneka mission!  I saw in the 'wedding' section of items, there was an ivory embellished dress, it was tunic style but the beading had totally drawn me in.  The amazing silky fabric and divine bead work was something to stop traffic, but I put the dress back as I knew it wouldn't suit my shape.  Little Ledge picked it back up and told me to try it on.
"I've seen this dress before in silver and it's beautiful.  You must try it on!"
Instead of arguing we trotted over the the changing room, to which I spied the perfect pale pink clutch bag that would work perfectly with the dress.  Not that I was going to get this dress, as it clearly wasn't going to suit me and I was just doing this to please my Mum!

The dress went on and I froze.  My goodness, how could my Mum be right.  This was the perfect dress for my friend's wedding!  It was £164.00 but was reduced to a bargain of £47.00, with thecclutch bag being reduced to £8.50!
My Kurt Geiger heels that were beige would pick up the warm pastel tones perfectly, teamed with gold and bronze jewelry to set it off.  I suddenly knew it was quite nice to wear something slightly different to my comfort style.
I know some people can be funny about wearing white or near white to weddings, but I thought sod it.  This dress has other colours on it that I've attempted to enhance, taking the attention away from the main color of the silk dress. This not only looks like a well made dress, it feels amazing on too.  What do you think?  Yay or nay to this color for a wedding? Do you stick to certain styles and not go out of your comfort zone too?
