Like most, I first got to know Peter through his mega-successful venture Help a Reporter Out (HARO). As an early subscriber, I followed his adventures from the beginning and got some incredible press opportunities, all while watching and learning from the guy who credits ADHD for most of his success.
Peter, who teaches companies how to be better companies, from a social, corporate, and responsibility perspective, has made a career out of being a connector. He has moved on from HARO (acquired by Vocus in 2010) and is now in the process of starting a new agency, with the self-appointed title “Chief annoying guy who gets things done.”
This eternal optimist believes that life should be fun and, not suprisingly, he told me that what he loves best about his job is that ”it has never once felt like work”, despite the fact that he spends most of his time in a plane or staring at a computer screen while occasionally taking time in the fresh air sweating as he lumbers through some kind of overly-physical activity.
His new book, Nice Companies Finish First: Why Cutthroat Management Is Over–and Collaboration Is In will be releasing on April 2nd, which will be followed soon after by the birth of his first child. I’ve already asked Peter how soon is too soon to take his baby shopping.
Regardless of all the interviews, speaking engagements, appearances and self-promotion Peter Shankman has done, I don’t think he has ever asked him to speak exclusively about his personal style. Curious, I asked Peter Shankman to take a Style Minute with me.
