This is awesome: NPR Music, with an assist from WGBO and WGBH, are streaming some of the top sets from this year’s Newport Jazz Festival. I definitely recommend checking out the sets by Wayne Shorter & Herbie Hancock (here), the Robert Glasper Experiment (here) and Jim Hall Trio with Julian Lage (here), but you won’t go wrong listening to any of the nine live sets they have in the full archive. Below you can stream Hiromi’s “Move, Part 1″ and “Move, Part 2″ from the festival (but not the stream for some reason) that – along with the sets above – prove that jazz is indeed still very alive and is definitely still kicking.
