Before I start explaining the one star I have given this film I thought it would be best to say that I thought the film could be a little bit funny considering it was talking dogs who were going to swear. Again that wouldn’t have been amazing or anything but I was left rather shocked with the direction they then went in with the film.
Reggie’s owner Doug was a complete loser and horrible person who was abusive and aggressive towards the dog. Constantly getting high and not having a job. The mission for Reggie, encouraged by his new found friends Bug, Hunter and Maggie was to bite Doug’s dick off!
Yes. Really.
That was not the end of the dick or sex talk and whole film ends up being obsessed with those two areas and in all honesty it left me rather shocked that it went there. Why on earth anyone finds any aspect of dog sex and dick’s funny I will never ever be able to work out.
I guess as far as seeing a film in the cinema and wanting to leave, this probably pushed me extremely close to walking out. That is something that I have never actually done yet. I even thought about not bothering to review the film as I really did think it was that bad, but then I decided I wanted to log my thoughts on it like I do with all the films I watch.
One thing I have thought of though is that it actually shocked me and I didn’t think that was possible anymore.
Seriously terrible.
