Strawberry Chocolate Waffles topped with with whip cream and fresh strawberry and unsweetened cocoa and sweetness from dark brown sugar.

1½ cups all-purpose flour

3 Tbsp granulated sugar

1 Tbsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 large eggs

1½ cups whole milk

4 Tbsp butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup chocolate chips

Whipped cream, chocolate syrup and fresh

berries, for topping

Preheat the waffle maker. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cocoa in a large bowl. Make a well in the middle of the ingredients and set aside.

Separate the egg yolks from the whites. In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites with a mixer until fluffy. In another bowl, mix the egg yolks, milk, butter and vanilla extract. Fold in the egg whites, leaving it lumpy. Add the egg mixture into the well of the dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula until combined, leaving it lumpy. Add the chocolate chips. When the waffle maker is hot, spray with cooking spray. Ladle batter, about 2/3 cup per waffle, into the waffle maker. Cook the waffles until crisp.

Serve hot with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and fresh berries. Makes 6 servings.
